Signature+ questions:
LegaPad LCD questions:
I have loaded the Signature+ drivers and the unit is not responding
Check the Signature+ is connected into the USB Port?
- First, verify that the hardware functions properly, and check the presence of Tablet icon () in system Task Bar to verify that Signature+ Driver has been loaded.
- For a Pen Tablet with serial port (RS232C) interface, make sure there is no other device such as a built-in modem or a serial port mouse using the same COM port or IRQ. If an ordinary mouse is also installed, check the mouse driver in Control Panel. If it is not a standard Windows, remove it and replace it with a Windows standard driver and verify Pen Tablet function again.
- Is the Green LED Light flashing in the top right hand corner of the Signature+
- When you first connect the Signature+ to the USB port, the LED flashes to signify it is connected but is not installed, if this is still happening once you have installed the Signature+ drivers, then there may be a problem with your USB port
- Once the drivers are installed, the LED should light up when the pen is touching the pad, or a button is pressed, it will flash slowly when it detects the presence of the pen, although when nothing is happening the light should stay off
I have loaded the Signature+ drivers and have rebooted the computer, I now get a blue screen and I cannot load into windows any more.
Can you load windows if the signature pad is disconnected?
- NO:
- Load windows in safe mode (press F8 when loading) and uninstall drivers from there.
- Reboot the computer – it should load normally into windows
- Re-Install the drivers from the CD onto the PC leaving the pad disconnected, if this problem re-occurs then there is a problem with your PC or the driver installation CD
- If there is no problem at this stage, connect the pad back onto the computer and reboot the computer
- If this problem re-occurs contact MotionTouch Technical Support
- YES:
- Restart Windows
- Re-Install the drivers for the Signature+ using the install program located on the CD
- If this problem re-occurs, Uninstall the drivers using the install program located on the CD, and contact MotionTouch Technical Support
I have loaded the CD that came with the signature pad and I am not sure what programmes to install?
It is recommended that you install everything although you need to install the TABLET Driver so that the Signature+ will function correctly, this is what tells windows what software is needed, and what the device does, without these drivers the Signature+ will not function to its full potential.
I have lost the driver CD for my Signature+ where can I get some replacements?
You can download them from the MotionTouch Drivers site
Where can I get updates for the Signature+ drivers?
Any updated drivers released for the Signature+ will be available on the MotionTouch Drivers site
The Green LED light does not come on at all.
Make sure all connections are made properly so that power is supplied, and data signals can be transmitted. For a cordless pen, lightly tap the Pen on any surface and try again. If the light still does not come on, check the battery in the Pen or the Tablet Mouse. If the battery is OK, seek help from MotionTouch Technical Support
It doesn't seem to matter how hard I press Pen Tip on Signature+, the trace it leaves on the screen seems to exhibit the same thickness.
- Using the Pen Tablet Control Panel (Double-Click the System Task bar -> Click the Pressure tab) it is possible for the check if the pressure sensing in the Signature+ is working OK
- The software being used may not be capable of utilising the Pressure Sensing parts of the Signature+, or the software may be using the pressure information without showing any information directly related to the pressure on the display
This Signature+ stops functioning suddenly during use.
The may happen when the cordless pen goes to "sleep" mode. This is when the Pen Tip is not touched or a button not pressed for a period of several minutes. To get the pen to wake up, just tap on any surface.
The pen stops functioning after a period of on-and-off or intermittent operation.
- This problem may be caused by the battery running out.
-
To change the battery:
- Remove the Back Cover, and replace the used battery with a fresh one.
- GENTLY INSERT THE BATTERY WITH THE NEGATIVE END IN PLACE FIRST.
- Before putting the positive end in place. Be careful not to let the negative end get caught by the spring holding the negative end in place.
I have tried to install the Legapad Drivers onto a computer using Windows 98 or ME and they are not working

I have loaded the Legapad Drivers and the unit is not responding
- Close any PDA Synchronisation software you may be running on your PC. E.g. ActiveSync etc
- Have you connected the Legapad into the USB port?
-
Go to device manage and check that it is installed
- Click on Start Menu
- Click on Settings
- Click on Control Panel
- Click on System
- Click the Hardware Tab
- Click on Device Manager
- Open up ports (Com and LPT)
- In that location there should be an Additional Com port called "USB to Serial Converter"
- If it is there, the pad is connected and communicating with the computer.
