The process
Injection moulding involves injecting molten plastic at high pressure into a mould.
The mould (or tool) is the inverse of the shape of the final product and is made from metal by a toolmaker. It is precision machined to form the features of the product.
Injection moulding is used to manufacture a massive variety of items - from tiny components to large parts, such as car panels. It is the most common plastic production method.
