Henry Powell

Client Director

Henry thrives on the energy and enthusiasm that surrounds the start of a new project with an exciting, fresh idea. He has overall responsibility for client service and a key part of his role is project resourcing – identifying the key skills required for a project and putting together the most appropriate team for total project success. Henry maintains a broad network of industry contacts within key sectors, to ensure MotionTouch has the necessary business partners to achieve its corporate goals and therefore those of its clients.

Henry graduated from Exeter University with a Physics degree and set up a successful events management business in London. He went on to join the family business, which evolved to become MotionTouch. A bit of an adrenalin junkie Henry spends his spare time skiing, sailing and mountain biking. He also offers guided tours of the Dunsfold Aerodrome (home to Top Gear) – where we are based – for visiting clients.

William Powell

Technical Director

William has a passion for problem solving and is always involved where there is a challenge to overcome. He has overall responsibility for design, manufacturing and quality. Over the past fifteen years his primary responsibilities have been focussed on technical development, project management, design and client reporting as well as finalising production processes and controls. He works closely with his team of seasoned professionals who provide expertise in specific disciplines from design to electronics design.

William graduated from Exeter University with a Politics degree and following a couple of successful business ventures went on to join the family business. This heritage continues as William and his brother Henry (Client Director) drive the business forward. William is a keen sportsman, playing hockey and golf in addition to snowboarding and running.

Ian Rogers

Head of Electronic Design

One of Ian’s key interests is prototyping; he thrives on creating a product from scratch, and is passionate about ensuring the prototypes then perform to the very best of their abilities. Ian also relishes a challenge – prototypes, by their very nature, are rarely perfect from the start, so he gains satisfaction from overcoming such issues along the way.

Following his degree in Electronic Engineering from Portsmouth University in 2003 (BEng Hons.) Ian went on to become a qualified PAT Tester in 2005. Ian has been with MotionTouch for eight years.

Simon Collings

Head of Product Design

Simon focuses on a ‘form follows function’ design principle combined with a sharp eye for aesthetics and detail. He oversees, manages and directs all of the MotionTouch design projects, which can involve up to nine or ten designers. Since joining MotionTouch in 2003 Simon has designed and design-managed over 250 projects. He liaises closely with clients throughout their projects to ensure that their vision is fully developed and realised, more often than not to a greater standard than they first imagined it could be.

Having graduated in Product & Furniture Design from De Montfort University, Simon was selected to be part of the “New Designers Exhibition” at the Business Design Centre, Islington.

Jessica Cornwell

Head of Overseas Operations
Jessica thrives on negotiation and working with suppliers to get the best commercial deals for our clients. She also enjoys the challenge of project management and seeing projects come to fruition from concept to volume manufacture.

Jessica graduated from National Central University, Taiwan with an MBA and trained as ISO9000 internal auditor. Currently, she holds Level 4 with the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply. Jessica has been at MotionTouch for more than eight years.

Tamsin Powell

Account Manager

Tamsin enjoys the client contact that her role involves, always endeavouring to be seen as a friendly source of communication; she gains personal satisfaction from knowing that her involvement and commitment to a client’s needs have contributed to the successful completion of a project. The focus of Tamsin’s role is client service – supporting clients through the various stages of project development. She is available as a constant point of contact, maintaining a clear line of communication between the client and the MotionTouch team, which ensures the smooth running of operations and the best results.

Tamsin received her BSc (Hons) in Sports and Business Management from The University of Wales and is a keen Lacrosse player, having played for her county, region and trained with the England squad.
